IPL® Acne Treatments

Laser Resurfacing

There is some downtime involved so you will need to plan this procedure when you have at least a week to recuperate (makeup can be applied after that period).

BOTOX® Cosmetic

This is a simple, non-surgical procedure that smoothes the deep, persistent lines that develop on your face over time. Microdermabrasion

This is a popular method of skin rejuvenation. It gently removes age spots and blemishes, evens skin tone, and creates a healthy glow. Microdermabrasion removes the most superficial layer of skin, leaving the skin supple and vibrant. Most systems use salts, crystals, or other loose particles to scrape off skin. These particles combine with skin cells to leave a gritty residue after each treatment. Here at the Dermatology Laser Center & Spa, we use the Diamond Tome™, a wand made of diamond chips that gently removes skin cells and vacuums them away in a sterile, controlled manner. Collagen

Sometimes, no matter how youthful you feel, your face tells a different story. Certain environmental factors can contribute to diminishing your collagen leaving unwelcome lines and wrinkles. Laser

A special laser designed to selectively target pigmented lesions can be used to either lighten or remove these darker areas of the skin. As the laser light passes harmlessly through the skin, it is absorbed only by the pigmented lesion.

Veins/Vessels

Laser treatment is now available for the removal of unsightly veins! Lasers selectively destroy blood vessels by employing the appropriate wavelength that will be absorbed by oxyhemoglobin, a major component in red blood cells. This process results in targeting only the broken vessels while leaving the surrounding tissue intact.

Another option that has been proven successful for treatment of spider veins on the legs is sclerotherapy. This is the injection of a solution that causes the veins to collapse leaving your body to resolve the collapsed vein much like it does a bruise.

Laser Hair Removal

This facial is a deep cleansing treatment that unclogs the pores and tightens the skin. It is designed for oily acne prone skin, and it includes a clay masque that leaves a wonderful smooth sensation.

Skin Firming Facial

This facial is designed for normal to dry skin but can be tailored for those with sensitive skin as well as those who are acne prone. It utilizes a high concentration of pharmaceutical grade Vitamin C to prevent premature photoaging that UVA radiation can cause. Refining Pre-Peel and Post Recovery System

BLU-U® (Blue Light Acne Treatment)

Blue light acne treatments are available as an alternative to medication or can be used in conjunction with skin care programs. This special blue light, known as the BLU-U®, kills the surface bacteria. Treatments are safe and painless and take only about 15 minutes once or twice a week. After some weeks, the blue light can control your acne or clear it up for a very long period of time.

Tattoo Removal

It is thought that the practice of tattooing the skin began as long as 5,000 years ago. However long ago tattoos really started, the desire to remove them likely started soon after. The advent of the Q-switched Nd:YAG lasers has permitted the removal of most tattoos with a low risk of scarring. Early attempts had less than desirable results. Surgical removal, dermabrasion, argon lasers, and CO2 lasers have left behind scars in place of the tattoo. New lasers only destroy the tattoo. It is removed by delivering a specific wavelength of light (depending on the color) which passes through the skin and is absorbed only by the ink.

LipoLite (Laser Lipolysis) and Tumescent Liposuction

LipoLite™ is the next evolution in how laser technology is being used to help people look and feel their best. Stubborn pockets of fat can be liquefied by the laser and then gently removed. The area to be reshaped is filled with a special saline solution that helps numb the site and shrink the blood vessels (to minimize blood loss and reduce bruising). This solution wets and fills the area to be treated. LipoLite features a tiny tube, called a “cannula,” which is inserted through a tiny incision into your skin. A precise, powerful laser beam is directed via an optical fiber through a cannula, and liquefies deposits of fat cells within the treatment area. Liquefied fat is then removed from your body through a very small incision in the skin with gentle suction.

CO2 Fractional Laser Resurfacing with Smartxide DOT (Dermal Optical Thermolysis).

Wrinkles, skin discoloration, sun spots, and skin laxity can be reduced or eliminated with minimal downtime. DOT Therapy is the latest in skin rejuvenation. This laser precisely creates thousands of microscopic DOTs in your skin, which induce immediate skin tightening and stimulate new collagen growth. Unlike previous laser technology, DOT therapy leaves islands of healthy tissue surrounding microscopic DOTs. This enables your skin to heal more rapidly. In most cases, excellent results can be achieved in a single session. However, persons with severe wrinkling or deep acne scars may benefit from a series of treatments. The appearance of aged or sun damaged skin can be reversed with the DOT.
